Monday Would three children standing on shoulders reach the classroom ceiling?
Tuesday Doorways are usually 6ft 6 inches.  Would a two metre person bump their head walking through it?
Wednesday Will all of the children in your class weigh more than one metric tonne?  Estimate, try and work it out.
Thursday Where would you be in the school if you walked 100 metres?  Think, walk, estimate, plan and then measure. Were you correct?
Friday You take something to the school office and then return to the classroom.  How far would you walk?  Guess then measure.

1 If you turn a left handed glove inside-out will it be right handed or left handed?
2 The average heart pumps 4 litres (about 7 pints) of blood per minute.  How many litres a day?  How many gallons? (A gallon is 8 pints)
3 If a child is one metre tall, what is their height in feet and inches?  You need to know that 1 inch is 2.54cm and that 12 inches make a foot.  What would a 2 metre person be in feet and inches?
4 I am 48 and my wife is 39.  How old was I when I was twice her age?  How old was I when I was four times as old as her?
5 Which are the only three whole numbers that when added together and multiplied together give the same answer?
6 Draw a clock face with the numbers 1 to 12 in their usual positions.  Can you draw a line so that the numbers on one side of it add up to the same as the numbers on the other side?

7 Using the digits 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 make two three-digit numbers and multiply them together.  What is the smallest answer you can get?
8 Nine numbers between 3 and 180 cannot be obtained with three darts.  Name one.
